For the video of “The Stars (Are Out Tonight)”, Bowie embraced his age and domesticity. He and Tilda Swinton portray a happy middle aged couple whose identities are slowly mutated to be more like that of two very pervasive celebrities. A young rock band also mimes along to the song, causing Bowie to go knock on their door for silence.
