Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence (Major Jack “Strafer” Celliers)

In addition to The Hunger, Bowie also appeared in Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence in 1983. The film is set in WWII, and stars Bowie as Major Jack “Strafer” Celliers, a South African soldier who is taken by the Japanese army as a prisoner of war.
